August 6, 2005 Saturday-BASA Volunteers came to CEFAM Seminar Room 2, Ateneo de Manila University, for a whole day workshop/getting-to-know you party with their fellow dreamers and doers.

They brainstormed project ideas for 1) library excellence 2) developing a culture of reading 3) propagating inspiring Filipino stories 4) finance and solicitations and 5) membership fun. Committee Apos presented their priority project for the next four months.

As a bonus, everyone also had a chance to establish their baseline eye spans and reading speeds and Ruby, one of our volunteers, shared tips on how to improve both. Thanks to Ruby for sharing her selections, particularly My Baby Dugong, which really struck a chord among the moms present.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who made this long overdue activity possible!!!

ABOUT BASA

BASA is a volunteer-driven outreach project. We dream of developing minds alive for nation-building through library excellence, a culture of reading, and inspiring Filipino stories. We envision a Filipino people nourished by reading with powerful imagination for nation-building. Our challenge is to enlighten souls, liberate minds and empower lives through knowledge sharing - for we believe that informed minds and hearts of integrity will lead to better life choices.
